January is National Ski Safety Awareness Month, and yesterday’s multi-agency training at Loveland Ski Area showcased exactly what preparedness and teamwork look like in action.
Huge thanks to the partners who made this training possible:
⛷️🏂Loveland Ski Patrol
🚁 Flight for Life Colorado
🧗 Alpine Rescue Team
🚒 Clear Creek Fire Authority
🚑 Clear Creek EMS
🐕🦺 Our avalanche dogs Bandit & Otis
Grateful for the training, teamwork, and dedication that help keep our mountain community safe. 💙❄️
Loveland Ski Area is welcoming the weekend with 3 inches of fresh snow, delivering excellent conditions as skiers and riders hit the mountain to enjoy soft turns and winter-like conditions. The snow isn’t done yet. Additional snowfall is expected today and tomorrow, setting the stage for a strong weekend of skiing and riding as fresh snow continues to refresh on-mountain conditions.
With the MLK holiday weekend behind us, skiers and riders were treated to a picture-perfect midweek day at Loveland Ski Area on Tuesday. Bluebird skies, rope drops on newly opened terrain, fresh snow, and minimal crowds with no lift lines created an ideal on-mountain experience.
Loveland Ski Patrol performed rope drops Tuesday morning, opening Bennett’s Bowl and Firecut for the season to enthusiastic guests. Loveland Ski Area has received 6 inches of snow this week, including 4 inches in the past 48 hours, delivering fresh powder turns, smooth corduroy groomers, and exciting new terrain openings.
With more snow in the forecast later this week, Loveland Ski Patrol will continue snow safety work and open additional terrain as conditions allow.
Otis may not read the code… but he follows it 🐕🦺

The 35th Annual Marry Me & Ski for Free Valentine’s Day Mountaintop Matrimony ceremony and reception is a Loveland tradition where new couples are joined in matrimony, and married couples renew their vows in a mass wedding at 12:00pm sharp in Forest Meadow. The Mountaintop Matrimony is one of Loveland’s most popular events of the year and we look forward to your participation. The ceremony is done for all couples at the same time and lasts approximately 30 minutes. Couples are required to sign-in the morning of the event at registration in the Lower Ridge Room and are asked to be at Forest Meadow by 11:30am.
Participants and guests must be able to ride the lift up to the top and then ski or snowboard down the hill in order to attend the ceremony. There will be no transportation up or down the mountain for non-skiers/snowboarders.
The Honeymooner’s Apres Party for all participants and their guests follows the ceremony at 1:30pm at the Loveland Basin featuring wedding desserts and sparkling apple cider!

Patients need you! Vitalant is facing a blood emergency as donated blood is going out to hospitals faster than donors are coming in, causing the blood supply to sink to its lowest level in a year. Donors of all blood types are needed, especially type O and platelet donors. Loveland will be hosting a blood drive from 10AM – 2 PM on Friday, January 30th.
