Own a Piece of Loveland History: The Lift 5 Chair Lottery Is Now Open

After more than 50 years as part of the Loveland landscape, Lift 5 is being removed. Now, we’re giving our guests the opportunity to own a piece of Loveland history.

The Lift 5 Chair Lottery is officially open, giving 2026/27 Loveland Season Pass holders the chance to purchase one of just 130 authentic Lift 5 chairs.

A Piece of Loveland History

Installed in 1975, the Heron Poma double chairlift carried generations of skiers and snowboarders across Highway 6, connecting Loveland Basin and Loveland Valley until it was retired from service in 2002. While the lift hasn’t operated in more than two decades, its towers and chairs have remained an iconic part of the Loveland skyline.

As Lift 5 is removed, we’re excited to give our guests the rare opportunity to bring home an authentic piece of the mountain.

How the Lottery Works

Because demand is expected to be high, the chairs will be sold through a random lottery.

Each selected winner will have the opportunity to purchase one authentic Lift 5 double chair for $650.

The chairs are being sold as-is, complete with the wear and character earned over decades of service. Lift pads have been removed from every chair, and chair assignments will be made at random. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate requests for specific chair numbers.

The lottery is open exclusively to paid-in-full 2026/27 Loveland Season Pass holders.

Don’t have your season pass yet? Purchase your 2026/27 Loveland Season Pass today, pay it in full, and you’ll be eligible to enter the Lift 5 Chair Lottery.

  • Registration Opens: Now
  • Registration Closes: July 22
  • Winners Notified: July 23
  • Purchase Deadline: July 30
  • Chair Price: $650 each

Lottery Rules

  • One entry per eligible season pass holder.
  • Season passes must be paid in full to qualify. Passes on a payment plan are not eligible.
  • Multiple season pass holders from the same household may enter, but only one winner per household will be selected.
  • Lottery entries and winning opportunities are non-transferable.
  • All sales are final.

From first turns in November to the final laps on Closing Day, this year reminded us what matters most—showing up, making the most of every day, and sharing the mountain together. No matter the conditions, the stoke never left.

To everyone who spent time with us this season—thank you. Your energy, your smiles, and your love for the mountain are what make Loveland special.

25th Annual Corn Harvest | Loveland Ski Area (VIDEO)

Sunshine, soft turns, and a whole lot of good vibes — the 25th Annual Corn Harvest at Loveland Ski Area delivered in every way. 🌽🎿

From spring laps on perfectly soft snow to a packed base area full of energy, Hawaiian shirts, and smiles, the day had it all. Live music from Mark Morris & The Rope Duckers kept the party going while guests enjoyed great food, drinks, and a massive raffle — all in support of Friends of CAIC.
