Join our local Parks and Wildlife Officers for a fun and free day on the slopes at Loveland to learn about Loveland's local wildlife. Simply meet at the Ptarmigan Roost Cabin at 1:00 pm for a run with a Wildlife Officer (plan to get there 15 minutes early, recommended for ages 8+).
The Ski with a Wildlife Officer Program will be taking place on February 27, March 14 and April 11. Come learn about the wild friends we share our slopes with!

The race will take place off the Ptarmigan Lift in Bennett's Bowl from 10am - 2pm and will be open to skiers and snowboarders of all ages and abilities. Come out and race your friends and family for fun and bragging rights. The race is free and open to everyone. Just sign up the morning of at the E-Tow Cabin at the bottom of the racecourse.

At Loveland Ski Area, you’ll have the chance to test the newest women’s skis — back-to-back, in real conditions — without the pressure or chaos of a typical demo. Our team curates the best selection from top brands, set up specifically for women, and we’re right there to answer questions, share insights, and help you zero in on what feels best underfoot.
It’s more than a gear test. It’s a supportive, fun, and refreshingly different way to discover skis that actually work for you. From confident cruisers to adventurous powder seekers, women of all levels will find something that elevates their day on the hill.
Pre-registration isn’t required, but it really helps. If you sign up in advance, check-in is quicker and you’ll spend more time skiing and less time filling out forms. Walk-ups are always welcome too.

The Loveland Ridge Cat will open for the 2025/26 season on Saturday, March 7. This season, we will be running the ridge cat 7 days a week until early April (conditions dependent).
Enjoy free snowcat skiing along the Continental Divide and explore some of Loveland’s most exhilarating terrain with a free ride on the Ridge Cat. Take in the amazing 360-degree views as you are whisked along the North side of The Ridge in the comfort of our 18-passenger snowcat. The Ridge Cat provides access to Field of Dreams, Velvet Hammer, Tickler, 13,010 and Marmot when conditions permit.
Skiers and riders are required to have (A) a valid season pass or (B) a lift ticket with a Ridge Cat Pass which can be picked up free of charge at the Basin Ticket Office. Ridge Cat access is provided on a first-come, first-served basis when conditions permit. When operating, the Ridge Cat will pick up a new group of skiers and riders just beyond Gate 1 North off Lift 9 and will drop skiers & riders off at Gate 4 North. This MOST DIFFICULT and EXPERT terrain is only accessible by foot or snowcat – there is no lift access here.

Brett Kretzer is an accomplished roots and bluegrass mandolinist, teacher, writer and outdoorsman currently living Golden, Colorado. While his roots are in the rich traditions of old time and bluegrass music, that certainly isn’t the limit of his influences, and he isn’t afraid to venture outside of the box and explore other musical genres.

The John Weeks Band is a high energy blues/rock band based in Denver, Colorado. John formed the band in 2013 and they have since garnered recognition and awards as one of the top bands in Colorado. Here's how it works---take the blues, ship it to Europe, mix it up, shake it around, add killer groove and seriously good vocals and you get the sound and flavor of the John Weeks Band. The music is based on classic blues lines, but they take it in some unique and different directions. Put it all together and you get a seriously powerful yet melodic sound that is unique to this band!

Backcountry Magazine returns for a stop of Backcountry BASECAMP at Loveland Ski Area on March 28 and 29, 2026. For more than 20 years, Backcountry Magazine has been committed to educating its community on how to safely travel untracked terrain and now were taking the message from the pages to the people.
As they travel throughout the country spreading safety and stoke, join the editors of Backcountry Magazine, alongside guides, forecasters, AIARE instructors and gear experts for a resort-based showcase of all things backcountry. We’ll have ski and board demos, educational workshops and tons of new gear to check out.
Fat Tire, Chill Foundation and Loveland Ski Area team up to bring back what has easily become one of Loveland's most popular events, the Loveland Scavenger Hunt presented by Fat Tire! Registration begins at 9AM on the Lower Basin Patio. $10 per person, teams can have 1-4 people. Registration includes a free beer! Wearing costumes will help your team earn points! The competition will start at 10AM sharp, and teams will have until 2:30PM to race around the mountain and hunt down each item on their clue sheet.
Prizes will be awarded for the most points earned and everyone over 21 gets to enjoy delicious New Belgium Beer at the Post-Hunt Celebration from 3-5PM complete with live music. Chill will be running a raffle with a ton of great prizes.
The Scavenger Hunt will raise funds to benefit the Chill Foundation’s mission of inspiring youth through board sports and building a more equitable outdoor community. Come on out for an epic day!

The Parkinson's Foundation hosts a Ski-A-Thon at Loveland to raise funds for Parkinson's research.
Ski for Science is an alpine ski event for all ages, featuring live music, a mountain scavenger hunt, barbecue lunch, raffle prizes, and a silent auction—all in support of Parkinson’s research. Come enjoy a day on the slopes, connect with community (including a PD researcher), and help move science forward toward better treatments and a cure.
Event timeline: Check in begins at 9:30am, with the scavenger hunt beginning at 10:30am. A barbecue lunch will be served at noon and will be followed by a short program starting at 2:30pm. Live music and activities will continue from 3-5pm, with the lifts closing at 4pm.
Led by guitarist Colin Mckinley and bassist Will Bemiss, with Nick Summers on drums and Jack Haley playing the fiddle, this group brings new energy to an old style. Complete with song mashups of hand-picked covers, this is a dance party that doesn't stop! 2:30-5:30PM
Join us on Easter Sunday for a Spring Skiing Giant Easter Egg Hunt! Gather at the Basin area for first chair at 8:30am and keep your eyes peeled for the giant hidden Easter Eggs as you ski down the slopes, browse the Sport Shop, and wander the base area. Huge eggs mean huge prizes such as skis, snowboards, and tons of other awesome goodies. There are a limited number of these giant Easter Eggs hidden around the Basin on the slopes and only one can be claimed per person. There will also be thousands of small eggs for the little ones to collect around the base area.
