Ski With a Forest Service Ranger - Midweek SessionSki With a Forest Service Ranger - Midweek Session – The US Forest Service and Loveland Ski Area team up to host Ski with a Ranger Day! Join a Forest Service Snow Ranger for a fun, free, and easy run centered around the relationships between Loveland and the land we all enjoy so much. Topics include glacial geology, winter ecology, local history, and partnerships and are suited for all ages (recommended for ages 8+). Simply meet at Ptarmigan Roost Cabin at the top of the Ptarmigan Lift at 1:30pm for a run with the Snow Ranger (plan to get there 15 minutes early.) The Ski With a Ranger Program will be taking place twice a month until the end of the season. Other Ski With a Ranger Dates include March 30 and April 10. Larry Myer is an energetic singer, songwriter and acoustic performer. He has played more than 200 towns in his homestate of Iowa and more than half the states of America, working his way up from a busking street performer to concert venues around the country. He has released two recordings, the landmark "Flatlands" CD and the followup, "The Ring and Other Ballads". Larry is also a winner of the Branson Songwriting Contest. Larry's live show is an aggressive performance that connects with a wide array of audiences. "Myer's voice is the trademark of Iowa's best acoustic rock", The Des Moines Register. Larry has been billed with dozens of reknowned musicians including Richard Thompson, Edwin McCain, Arlo Guthrie, Todd Snider, John Hammond, David Bromberg, and America. Larry Myer has been on a "perpetual tour" since sometime in the 80's. It's a good quality, fun show . (valid lift ticket/season pass as well as a credit card for deposit required) Cardiff Snowcraft, hailing from Utah, distills decades of experience in snowboarding, design, engineering, and construction into purpose-built boards that tour and ride like no other out there. Unique to the industry, we offer each of our snowboards in both a splitboard and snowboard option. Born in 2012, Phantom Splitboard Bindings are the first splitboard bindings designed around lightweight alpine touring (AT) ski boots. While the term "hardbooting" is often used to describe the setup, Phantoms are designed to flex, ride and feel like traditional snowboard bindings and perform as well in deep pow conditions as they do during the spring snowboard mountaineering season. |

SheJumps Wild Skills Junior Ski Patrol CampSheJumps Wild Skills Junior Ski Patrol CampFebruary 22, 2020 Join us for Wild Skills Junior Ski Patrol, a day camp at Loveland Ski Area on Saturday, February 22! Young girls will learn mountain safety and first aid while working with the strong women of the ski patrol community. This event is intended for intermediate to expert skiers/snowboarders ages 8 - 17 who identify as female. This SheJumps' Wild Skills event is structured as full day camp experience, parents/legal guardians drop girls off, they are split into teams based on their skier ability and then rotate through different stations. Throughout the day, girls are taught a range of outdoor skills that are utilized by ski patrollers to keep the mountain safe. Girls will work alongside female patrollers and volunteers to learn more about the many facets of mountain safety and first aid. We will provide 1 to 2 female mentorship engaging all generations in the sharing of knowledge and understanding. Connecting experience, energy and love for our natural places with the technical and survival skills girls need to get out and adventure. Schedule for the Day* The event registration opens at 9:30 am and is located in the Lower Ridge Room of the Main Lodge. You’ll check in at registration and meet up with your team for the day. Teams will consist of 1 female ski patroller, 3 SheJumps volunteers and 8 girls of similar ski ability. At 10 am we start the day at Ski Patrol headquarters where patrolers will lead all teams in a morning meeting covering ski patrol basics and our agenda for the day. From there teams will break out and proceed to various stations throughout the mountain. Stations cover topics including first aid, mountain safety, toboggan use, snowmobile safety, weather and avalanche basics & prevention. Along the way there is free skiing, surprises and games, of course! Lunch consisting of pizza & salad is included in the day. Please note, we are unable to accomodate eating restrictions. After lunch, all teams will proceed to the Avy Dog Demo where handlers will educate teams about the avalanche dog program and demonstrate a burial rescue situation. The afternoon will wrap up with the remainder of station visits, free skiing, anytime skills and a informal awards ceremony starting at 3:30 pm. Timeline:

Never Summer Women's Ride and Demo DayNever Summer Women's Ride and Demo Day – Never Summer snowboards, proudly made right here in Colorado, hosts a women's ride day with free demos on Sunday, March 8th. Come meet up with other ladies who shred, grab one of Never Summer's latest models, and explore Loveland's great terrain together. Live Music: Jack YoderLive Music: Jack Yoder – This versatile Guitarist/Singer/Songwriter moved to Colorado in 2011 from New Orleans and now makes his home in Denver. Jack is a seasoned artist playing more than 100+ live shows a year. His original material is heavily influenced by Americana acts such as Robert Earl Keen, John Prine, Guy Clark, Hayes Carll, Steve Earle, The Turnpike Troubadours and The Drive By Truckers. Red Dirt acts, the likes of Reckless Kelly, Cross Canadian Ragweed and Stoney LaRue. And Blues artists such as Muddy Waters, Lightnin Hopkins and R.L Burnside. In 2015 he started Georgetown Sound Recording Studio and followed that with the launch of Southbound Records in 2016 with the release of the first single (a cover of Hank Williams Six More Miles) by Jack Yoder & The Ramblin’ Shakes. He is currently working on a new album of original material. |
